Register to participate in the Wassmuth Center’s next Idaho Educator Workshop at the Riverside Hotel (Boise), March 8 and 9.
Scheduled from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, participants will explore stories of genocide by focusing on the power of survival testimony. The workshop includes a presentation by Dydine Umunyana, a survivor of the Rwandan Genocide and author of Embracing Survival. (Workshop participants will receive a copy Dydine’s book and a light dinner will be provided.)
Meeting from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, participants will examine how stories of genocide can be brought in the classroom.
Guiding questions include:
What moves us to act?
Was the Holocaust Genocide or Genocides?
How should we value the saving of a human life?
How do we value the saving of a human life?
(Lunch will be provided.)
One optional continuing education is available from Boise State University for $60 and the completion of six hours online in the Wassmuth Center’s e-Classroom.
Limited to 25 participants, the workshop registration fee is $40.
